INDUSTRIAL VISIT organized by Mercy College Palakkad

The PG Department of Commerce organized an Industrial visit for second year Bcom CA and Finance students of Mercy College,Palakkad on 25th November 2023 to KSE Ltd., Irinjalakuda. The total number of students were 106 , accompanied by three Faculty members - Ms.Jency Baby, Ms.Gopika S, Ms.Sowmya S.
All the students assembled in Mercy College at 5:30 A.M and reached KSE LTD. at 9 A.M. KSE official Mr. Shyam, had briefly explained the process and procedures undertaken by the industry. The managing director of KSE LTD. gave a brief introduction regarding the manufacturing of cattle feed, oil cake processing and dairy products. After the orientation class, he guided the students to the cattle feed plant to witness the functioning of the machinery and the way they store the product. The students also learned the detailed functioning of the machinery with the help of a diagrammatic presentation, which was explained by KSE official.
Finally the students were taken out of manufacturing unit of cattle feed and they allowed to clear the queries. The queries were efficiently answered by the Managing Director. Before leaving, the industry offered Vesta ice cream which is their product for all the students. After visiting industry all students were taken to Marine Drive for the one hour boat ride and students spent their evening in the walkway of Marine Drive. At 5 P.M all reached LULU Mall and spent two hours for shopping and other activities.
The industrial visit helps students to bridge the gap between academics and industry. The students could witness live process of cattle feed manufacturing industry. Students gained first-hand information about manufacturing process right from raw materials, machine- handling, quality check and testing of final products.
