NAIPUNNYA INSTITUTE OF MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY (NIMIT) is organizing an INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE on Multifaceted Role of SDGs in Fostering Socio-Cultural Fabric and Economic Development on 17 January 2024 In Hybrid Mode

Overview of the Theme

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), established by the United Nations in 2015, comprise a set of 17 interlinked objectives designed to address pressing global challenges and foster a more sustainable future by the year 2030. These goals span a broad spectrum of issues, ranging from eradicating poverty and hunger to ensuring good health, quality education, gender equality, clean water, and affordable clean energy. The SDGs also aim to promote economic growth, industry, innovation, and infrastructure while reducing inequality within and among nations. Sustainable cities, responsible consumption and production, climate action, life below water, life on land, and the promotion of peace, justice, and strong institutions are integral components of this global agenda.

Crucially, the SDGs recognize the interconnected nature of these challenges, emphasizing that progress in one area is often contingent on advancements in others. The goals underscore the need for collaboration, both within and between countries, to confront shared global challenges effectively. Each goal is accompanied by specific targets and indicators, providing a framework for measuring and monitoring progress. The overarching objective is to create a balanced and equitable world that addresses environmental, social, and economic dimensions, ensuring the well-being of current and future generations. The SDGs serve as a comprehensive blueprint, guiding international efforts toward sustainable development, resilience, and inclusivity on a global scale.
