The Department of Psychology, St. Teresa's College (Autonomous), Ernakulam, organized a comprehensive One-Day Workshop on August 18, 2023, exclusively designed for both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) final year students. The workshop's central theme was the "Review of Literature in Research." Esteemed facilitators for the event were Ms. Amruthambika P and Ms. Sumi J, Research Scholars from SD College Alappuzha.
The workshop was structured to encourage active interest and engagement in research.
The sessions were designed as dynamic group activities, wherein students collaboratively discussed and identified pertinent research variables within their specific areas of interest. These discussions led them to discern the dependent and independent variables associated with their chosen areas. Furthermore, the workshop delved into the art of crafting innovative and creative research titles, an integral aspect of scholarly work.
A significant highlight of the workshop was the emphasis on equipping students with the practical use of Mendley, a software solution tailored for collection and organization of references essential for conducting a comprehensive review of literature. This software instruction aimed to empower students with a tool that simplifies the complex task of literature review, enhancing their research capabilities. Other research tools and software which would help in the smooth conduct of literature review were also discussed with the students.
Overall, the workshop served as a valuable platform for final-year UG and PG students to refine their research skills, fostering a deeper comprehension of the intricacies involved in conducting a literature review.
