Diwali Fest conducted by the SESREC @ Mercy College Palakkad

Diwali Fest conducted by the Social Entrepreneurship, Swachhtha & Rural Engagement Cell of Mercy College Palakkad on 15 November 2023.The International Women entrepreneurship day which falls on 18 November, was observed by SESREC through a Dazzling Diwali Delight Fest on 15 November 2023. There was a notice calling for stall registration. Many teams registered. The exhibition cum fest was arranged in the leisure tower in front of the Alphonsa block.

There were stalls selling sweets, savouries, electronic deepams, candles, jewellery, home decore, salads, cakes, sandwiches and many  homemade items. There were  mehendi stalls decorating hands and also stalls that sold festoons. It was an opportunity for students to learn to become entrepreneurs and also understand the importance of earn while you learn programme. The fest was attended by all in the campus and thrilled the visitors too.

The coordinator of SESREC Dr.Nila N along with the conveners for this fest ,Ms Betty, Ms Tessy and Ms Shruthi of MSW Department  made sure that hygiene and sanitation was well taken care of. The food waste, biodegradable waste and non-biodegradable or plastic waste was collected separately during the fest . They were well disposed appropriately after the fest to save the environment. The fest was a grand success and send the message of entrepreneurship and Swachhta strongly. It benefitted around 2300 people.
