About the Department:
The Department of Commerce was established in St. Mary’s College in the year 2012. The department started functioning with the one-degree course – B Com. In 2013, the Department has elevated to Postgraduate Department with the commencement of a Post Graduate Course – M.Com in Finance. The objective of our department is to groom students to cope up with the new challenging Commerce World. Since 2012 , the department has been actively engaged in multifarious activities to fulfill its vision and mission. Various events and competitions are organized to cater to the holistic development of the students. Various Inter- collegiate events are conducted by the department of commerce. We always ensure the participation of our students and alumini for various programmes conducted. We also train our students to be socially responsible citizens for that we encourage them to do various activities to achieve humanitarian goals .
About the College:
St. Mary's College, Thrissur is the first women's college in Thrissur district, India, established and managed by the CMC Educational Society of Nirmala Province of the Congregation of the Mother of Carmel in the Catholic Church. Right from its establishment in 1946, St Mary’s College has been striving hard to achieve its vision of ensuring holistic development of young women from diverse socio economic backgrounds. College has moulded the lives of many, now serving in different walks of life and is in the process of creating many more. Time to time the College has embarked on innovative programmes and strategies to make students excel not only in academics but also ensure greater achievements in extracurricular spheres.
