The workshop "From Theory to Practice: Exploring Panel Data Analysis In-depth" provides participants with a comprehensive understanding of panel data analysis, covering cross-sectional data analysis (OLS, IV, 2SLS), hypothesis testing, and model adequacy tests. It also delves into time series data analysis (non-stationarity, unit root tests, cointegration) and explores panel data advantages, structures, pooled, and error components models. Moreover, participants will gain expertise in advanced topics such as nonlinear panel data models (Probit, Logit, Tobit) and stochastic frontier models (time permitting). By attending this workshop, participants will acquire the essential skills to apply these techniques effectively in their research projects, enabling them to draw more robust conclusions and make informed decisions when analyzing data, ultimately contributing meaningfully to their respective fields of study or professional domains.
About the University
The University of Travancore, which eventually become the University of Kerala, was established in 1937. About the Resource Person
Dr. Vijayamohanan Pillai N. is currently an Honourary Fellow at Gulati Institute of Finance and Taxation, Trivandrum, Kerala. Earlier he worked at the Bureau of Industrial Costs and Prices, Government of India, New Delhi; Department of Econometrics, University of Madras, Chennai; Stansfield School of Business (London School of Economics Programme), Singapore; and Centre for Development Studies, Trivandrum. He has published seven books, fifty-five working papers and more than thirty-two journal articles in national and internation journals and edited books. He does research in Applied Statistics, Energy Economics, Development Theory, Political Economy and Social and Political Philosophy. His current projects are on 'Dictionary of Econometrics ', 'Panel data analysis' and 'Poverty of Communism.'
