PG Department of English, NSS College, Pandalam presents Dr. K P Ayyappa Paniker Memorial Intercollegiate Literary Quiz 2023 on 06 January, 2023 at 10am

About the Quiz: Born on September 12, 1930, Dr. K. Ayyappa Paniker, is a towering presence in the intellectual as well as aesthetic life of Keralites. A pioneer of modernism in Kerala, he was a renowned poet, critic and academic. His seminal work Kumkshethram (1960) is considered a turning point in Malayalam poetry. Similarly, Ayyappapanikkarude Krithikal was an important influence on the playwrights of his generation. 

In an academic career spanning four decades which went hand in hand with a literary one, Dr. Paniker taught in various colleges and universities before retiring as the Director, Institute of English, University of Kerala. He was also the recipient of a number of honours including the Padma Shri, Kerala Sahitya Akademi award for poetry and criticism, Kendriya Sahitya Akademi Award for poetry, Saraswati Samman for his collection of writings Ayyappa Panikerude Krithikal, etc. After a life spent in the service of the muse, Dr. Paniker passed away on 23 August 2006. 

The PG Department of English, N.S.S. College, Pandalam, has been conducting an intercollegiate literary quiz in memory of the literary giant for the past twelve years. The aim of the quiz is to encourage students to develop an enduring love for literature and also to preserve the memory of one of the greatest bilingual writers from Kerala.

മുന്നു തലമുറയിലെ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ ഒത്തുകൂടിയ യുഗസംഗമം 2022 സെന്റ്‌ തോമസ്‌ കോളജില്‍ നടന്നു. നിലവില്‍ പഠിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാര്‍ഥികള്‍ ഇതേ കലാലയത്തില്‍ നിന്നും പഠിച്ചിറങ്ങിയ അവരവരുടെ കുടുംബത്തിലെ തന്നെ മുന്‍ തലമുറക്കാരും ചേര്‍ന്നാണ്‌ കോളജില്‍ ഒത്തുകൂടിയത്‌. അധ്യാപകരും സംസ്‌കാരിക രംഗത്ത്‌ വൃക്തിമുര്ര പതിപ്പിച്ച പൂരവവിദ്യാര്‍ഥികളും സംഗമത്തില്‍പ്പങ്കെടുത്തു.

സെന്റ്‌ തോമസ്‌ കോളജ്‌ പൂര്‍വ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥി സംഘടനയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ നടത്തിയ യുഗസംഗമം പൂര്‍വ വിദ്യാര്‍ഥിയും മുന്‍ അധ്യാപകനും സി എസ്‌ ബി ബാങ്‌; മുന്‍ ചെയര്‍മാനുമായ ടി.എസ്‌.അനന്തരാമന്‍ ഉദ്ഘാടനം ചെയ്തു.

ലോകകപ്പ് ഫുട്ബാൾ ഫൈനലിന് മുന്നോടിയായി സെന്റ്‌ തോമസ് കോളേജിൽ, നിലവിലെ ചാമ്പ്യന്മാരായ ഫ്രാൻസിന്റെ ജേഴ്‌സിയിൽ കളിക്കുന്ന അനദ്ധ്യാപക സംഘത്തെ  അര്ജന്റീന ജേഴ്‌സിയിൽ എത്തുന്ന അദ്ധ്യാപകരുടെ ടീം നേരിടും. ആവേശ്വജലമായ ഈ പോരാട്ടം ഇന്ന് (16.12 .2022) സെന്റ് തോമസ് കോളേജിലെ തോപ്പ് സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിൽ രണ്ടുമണിക്ക് ആരംഭിക്കും.   

കലാ കായിക മത്സരങ്ങളെ  വളരെ നല്ല രീതിയിൽ പ്രോത്സാഹിപ്പിക്കുന്ന സെന്റ് തോമസ് കോളേജ് ഇതിനുമുമ്പും ലോകകപ്പ് ഫുട്ബാളിന് മുന്നോടിയായി മത്സരങ്ങൾ സംഘടിപ്പിക്കാറുണ്ട്. ആവേശ്വജലമായ ഈ രീതിയിലുള്ള മത്സരങ്ങൾ  2014,  2018 വർഷങ്ങളിൽ തോപ്പ് സ്റ്റേഡിയത്തിൽ വച്ചുനടന്നിട്ടുണ്ട്. ലോകകപ്പ് ഫുട്ബാൾ ഫൈനലിന് മുന്നോടിയായി നടത്തപ്പെടുന്ന ഈ മത്സരം എല്ലാവര്ക്കും ഒരു കൗതുകമുണർത്തുന്ന അനുഭവമായിരിക്കും.

Asian Book of Records for the mega Sadya held at Christ College Christ College (Autonomous)

Department of Commerce (Self-Help) has been recognized by the Asian Book of Records for its mega Sadya (30-August-2022) organized during Onam. This earned the college the reputation of being the largest feast prepared and presented by an educational institution in India. The title recognized by the Asia Book of Records is - Maximum traditional vegetarian dishes prepared and displayed by an educational institute. Christ is the first college in India to receive this award. The award was announced on November 27th through Sudarshan channel. The certificates were presented to the college authorities by the Asia Book of Records authorities. Principal Rev. Fr. Dr. Jolly Andrews, Mega Sadya Coordinator Smitha Antony M, Head of Department of Commerce (Self-financing) Prof. K. J. Joseph received the award. Officials stated that the recognition is for bringing together the most vegetarian traditional food dishes. The editorial team of Asia Book of Records unanimously selected 239 items from the Mega Sadya. This record will be included in the Asia Book of Records.

Countries Quiz @ St. Thomas College (Autonomous) Thrissur on 08.12.2022

The quiz club of S.T. Thomas' College (Autonomous) Thrissur organized a quiz based on countries  - The Nations League on 08 December 2022. Mr.Abhinav. K.R. was  the quiz, Master. The quizzing rounds were filled with information and entertainment. The quiz master hosted the show in a very interesting manner and students enjoyed it.

The quiz had  three rounds which consisted of 15 questions. There were 9  Teams for participation from various departments of the college. Sreehari .M and Bharat Raj. C secured the first position in the quiz and the second position was secured by Harith. V. H and  Vinayak Krishna. The prize for the winners was given by quiz master  Abhinav. K.R. The quiz master collected feedback from the students at the end of the quiz and Sreehari The quiz club member proposed a vote of thanks

 കോഴിക്കോട് ഗവർമെന്റ് ടീച്ചർ എഡ്യൂക്കേഷൻ കോളേജിൽ വെച്ച് നടന്ന കാലിക്കറ്റ് സർവകലാശാലയുടെ യോഗാസന ചാമ്പ്യൻഷിപ്പിൽ ഇരട്ട കിരീടം നേടി സെന്റ്. തോമസ് കോളേജ് തൃശൂർ. പുരുഷ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ തുടർച്ചയായ അഞ്ചാം വർഷവും , വനിതാ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ തുടർച്ചയായ നാലാം വർഷവും ആണ് സെന്റ് , തോമസ് കിരീടം ചൂടുന്നത്.  സഹൃദ കോളേജ് വനിതാ പുരുഷ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ രണ്ടാം സ്ഥാനവും , പ്രജ്യോതി കോളേജ് പുതുക്കാട് വനിതാ പുരുഷ വിഭാഗത്തിൽ മൂന്നാം സ്ഥാനവും കൈവരിച്ചു . സെന്റ് തോമസ് കോളേജിലെ സാരംഗ് കെ. സ്  പുരുഷ വിഭാഗം വ്യക്തിഗത ചാമ്പ്യനും, അഭില പി. വനിതാ വിഭാഗം വ്യക്തിഗത ചാമ്പ്യൻ ആയി തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

ഭുവനേശ്വറിൽ വെച്ച് നടക്കുന്ന ഓൾ ഇന്ത്യ ഇന്റർയൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി മത്സരങ്ങൾക്ക് വേണ്ടി പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നതിനുള്ള യൂണിവേഴ്സിറ്റി ടീമിലേക്കു സാരംഗ് കെ.സ് , അഭില പി.ഹേമ , ആഷ്മി എന്നിവരെ സെന്റ് , തോമസ് കോളേജിൽ നിന്നും തിരഞ്ഞെടുത്തു.

EMPRESA 2022 (Management Fest) by Department of Management Studies, St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur on 08.12.2022

The Department of Management Studies of St. Thomas College (Autonomous), Thrissur organizing EMPRESA 2022 (Management Fest) on 08.12.2022. There will be three events Business Quiz (LAEEB) ● Marketing Game(ZAKUMI) ● Human Resource Game(WILLIE). The Venues are ● Business Quiz -Medlycott Hall. ● Marketing Game -Menachery Hall. ● Human Resource Game -Vazhappily Hall. 

The Registration counters for each of these games will be separate desks near to Medlycot Hall. Participants have to first report on registration counter even if you have registered online. If you have already registered through online mode , you have to make online payment to get a discount of ₹20 on registration fee. ● Online registration fee -₹80 ● Spot registration fee -₹100. Online registration closes at 9.00 pm on 07-12-2022. Spot registration or reporting of participants at the registration counter closes at 10.00 am on 8-12-2022. Inaugural ceremony will start at 9.00 am and closing ceremony starts at 3.00 pm. A minimum of 3 teams should be there for the competition to run. For any game, if more than 5 teams are registered , there will be a preliminary round and only 5 teams will be selected for the next round. Only two teams form a department (not from college) can participate in a game. First prize : ₹5000 Second prize :₹3000 Third prize : ₹2000 For all games. Each games will have a student committee and participants have to strictly follow the instructions. If there is a breach in rules or any kind of misbehaviour, team will be disqualified. Any department from St Thomas College other than department of Management Studies can also participate. Any UG/PG students of any college/department can participate. Digital certificates will be provided to all winners and participants.
